There are two ways to play The Challenge. You can play using your cell phone or on-line. But for both mechanisms, scoring is the same - the quicker you answer, the more points you score. The maximum points you can score for any one question is 30 points. As time ticks by and potential answers are removed from the TV screen, the number of points available to a player reduces. A wrong answer scores zero points; no answer scores zero points; any correct answer will score at least 5 points.

CELL PHONE PLAY
The most important element when using your cell phone is the number that you text your answers to: 37337. Every time you text in an answer, you'll be sending them to this number.

You might like to text the word TEST to 37337 in advance of the show to make sure your phone and carrier plan supports text messaging to this number.

During the show, you'll answer 4 questions....
- When you know the answer to Question 1, you'll text either 1a, 1b, or 1c
- When you know the answer to Question 2, you'll text either 2a, 2b or 2c
- You'll follow this formula for Questions 3 and 4 as well.
- You can only answer once per question, so be sure about your answers.
NOTE: it does not matter if you use CAPS or lower case letters.

Here are some tips for texting:

1. Have your text message ready to send to 37337 in advance of the question being shown on the TV screen. There will always be a small amount of time in between questions. We suggest that you enter 37337 during that time so you can be ready.

2. Once you've entered the number, 37337, and you have entered your answer, e.g. "1a" hit send on your cell phone to send the message.

3. If you are new to text messaging, practice ahead of time so you can enter your answers quickly once the game starts. You can send the word TEST to 37337 to make sure you're good to go.

ON-LINE PLAY
If you are playing on your home computer, make sure you're logged into the Game Play pop up window (that's this window!) and click the 'HOME' link...from where you'll see the link to start playingg the game.

NOTE: only one player will be able to play per computer!

Once this screen is loaded, you will see available answers for Question 1; there are 4 questions in total.

DO NOT select any answers until prompted to play during the show. If you select an answer BEFORE the appropriate question appears, you will be awarded zero points. You can only answer once. Once you make a selection, the page for Question 2 will appear. Wait until prompted, and then answer. Subsequent questions will appear after every answer.

If during the show your session is interupted (for any number of reasons) and you have to re-login again, don't worry! We store all of your answers up until that point - just log back in, and select any answer through to the current question. You're not penalized for answering more than once - but only your first answer will count.
